Four Travel Tips For This Holiday Season

Travel Tips For This Holiday Season
Most of these tips would appear as common as 'brush your teeth' on list of priories but for others, it might come in handy when organizing their travel plans. So, if you are not really into traveling and exploring the world but you are not faced with the mind-boggling task of wondering what is important and what is not, here are some ideas.
  1. A week to pack. One of the best traveling tips we have had is to give yourself a week to pack. Bring out the luggage, open them up on the floor or bed or wherever suits you and start dumping stuff in. Over the week, you will be pulling things out, putting things in (so on and so forth) for a while. By the end of the week, when the trip draws nearer, you will have a much better idea about what you want and don't want to bring along for your trip.
  2. Pack light, you are going to be BUYING stuff. An inexperienced traveler will want to bring as many clothes as possible for their trip because they are essentially afraid that they will have to walk around half naked halfway through the trip. Don't worry! You won't have to. You see, in most parts of the world, they have malls and shops where they sell seasonally-appropriate items as well. As a seasoned traveler can tell you, what doesn't stink during the trip, can be worn again and again...and again....if you can bear it.
  3. Put your personal documents in one pocket. Most of us get really paranoid about where we put our travel documents...I will be very surprised if you are not. But if you are like the rest of us paranoid people, then designated one compartment in your bag or one pocket in your jacket for all travel documents. No matter where you go and what you do with those documents, they always go back into the same pocket. This way, you won't be left in a frantic mood when you can't remember where you last placed them.
  4. Forget the dictionary, learn some sign language. Honestly speaking, a dictionary hardly ever does anybody any good. What you need is the ability to smile and laugh at yourself when you can't find your way and a talent in charades. If you can, pick up some simple words on the internet before your trip comes along.

How to Divorce Your Travel Agent and Plan Your Own Trip

When thinking about international travel, most people's first thought is to hire a travel agent. Why? In several years of travel, I have never been able to find a travel agent who can beat the deals I find for myself. It does take a little more time, yes, but it makes the trip all the more worthwhile when you realize you are the one who designed the trip. It belongs to you.

Book Review - A Travel Guide To Heaven

"If heaven is anything at all, it's fun." With that opening line Anthony Destefano sets a tone for his book that turns out to be as much fun to read as the place it is describing. Reading these words in the preface, I was buoyed up with the hope that A TRAVEL GUIDE TO HEAVEN would combine sound theological teachings on the afterlife with a bit of humor and grace - but without the stuffy jargon of philosophers. Destefano does not disappoint his readers. He gives us concrete images of heaven that we can grasp (a perfect rose, a beautiful sunset, breathtaking views) combined with new ideas of what it means to go on the vacation of our dreams (frolicking simultaneously with tame "wild" animals and even dinosaurs).

Simple Ways to Stop Stress When Traveling

Traveling is fun but it can take a toll on your body. Contrary to popular belief, going somewhere doesn't always mean you'll be lying under a palm tree on the beach sipping a dry martini. The stress of traveling caused by a hectic schedule, delayed flights, air sickness and culture shock can be both physically and mentally exhausting. To avoid this, here are some practical tips so you can relax on your next trip:

It is Time For Some Fun Travelling Experiences

For many of us, the last few years have been about worry and saving as much money as possible. Thankfully, the economy is now on an upturn which means that we can, once again, start thinking about treating ourselves a little bit and for many, this means FINALLY taking that trip that you have been planning and dreaming about for several years.

Yosemite Fun - Travel With Kids

Travel With Kids

Even before its establishment in 1890, Yosemite National Park has already been popular with tourists and visitors.  Today, the park remains as a top tourist attraction in the Sierra Nevada, especially for families with young children.  Once your child has reached the age when he starts to develop an appreciation for things, bring him to Yosemite.  There's plenty of great fun that awaits kids in this spectacular environment.  Here are just a few samplings of what you and your family can expect:

Fun Traveling Tip - Make a Journal

I do not keep a journal at home but I always do when I am traveling. Even though I take a million pictures and think that I'll remember everything, I just can't. But I have found a fun way to document my experience and help to remember so many more of the little things that really make a vacation special.

Have Fun Travelling

Travel
Very early in life we begin travelling. First we travel from our mother's womb into the wide wonderful world we now inhabit. Next we travel home from the hospital, if we were born in a hospital. We travel a lot during the years we live at home. We go to school. We go with our parents on vacations. We go to camps. We find all sorts of places to go and explore.
When we leave home and begin making a life for ourselves there will be as much or as little travel as required. You may travel only to and from work except for vacation time. Or you may find ways to spend every available moment travelling somewhere or other. It really depends on how much you are curious about the rest of the world and what people are doing there.

Family Fun Travel

The best time for a holiday? Always! Here are ideas where a family can travel, have fun and enjoy quality time spent together!
Kids LIKE: Waterparks
Let's face it. Waterparks are fun for everyone! No matter how old (or young!) you are, you're sure to enjoy the cool slides and pools - especially in the summer heat! To enjoy it to the full you must first learn how to swim properly - or you may choose to hang out with the youngest swimmers by the toddler pool!
Kids LIKE: Theme parks
Bored with museums? Thought so! How about a theme park to get your excitement running once again? No, we won't be scared when at the top of the roller coaster, Mom. (We will be terrified!) But it's all in he spirit of having the best holiday EVER! Even if there's the risk of having embarrassing 'accidents'!

South America and Western Europe are both cheap to get to because airlines so often have deals on, especially if you are travelling in the off-season or on an off-peak flight. There are so many flights available that it is easy to find a cheap one if you look hard enough.
o Book your vacation from a cheap travel website rather than a travel agent because websites, like Expedia and lastminute.com, often have great deals for flights and hotels that travel agents do not get. If you do insist on booking through an agent then go for the last minute deals instead. Booking a week or so before can save you hundreds!

That sort of thinking is alright if your a teenager but not for adults. Something as simple as twisting your ankle getting off the tour bus can turn into a financial disaster.

Cheap Travel Insurance Can Be As Good As The Expensive Kind

Planning a vacation can be fun, but it can also be expensive. Most of us are on a budget when it comes to traveling so we want to get the most for our money. The issue of buying travel insurance is one that often comes up. Some people think of it as an option and others view it is as a necessity. While some people think travel insurance is a good idea they don't want to spend the money on it.

The first requirement in getting cheap travel to Europe is getting cheap transportation there. I assume (knowing what happens when that happens), that you come from North America So we'll begin there. I may get hate letters from Singapore to Auckland for this mistake. BTW, if you are searching for cheap travel to Europe from South America, though there are exceptions which complete every rule, you will likely find a goodly number of deals if you fly to North America first, so please wait on the hate mail for two days or more, while you look over your options.
